PLEASE NOTE!!! There was another Supreme Court ruling that extended the abortion legacy of roe v wade to all nine months; this is not mentioned in the following...
Questions for Pro AbortionistsPosted by JR on 06/29/1996 at 20:03:43 http://www.rtside.com
Here is the mother of all posts, please do not abort but read. It took me hours to put together!!
Is the fetus alive by the third trimester?
At a US Senate Judiciary Subcommittee meeting, most scientists stated that life begins at conception or implantation of the embryo; only one said that no one can tell when life begins. No scientist present claimed that life begins at birth.
'The electrophysiologic rhythm of the brain develops early. Detailed EEG tracings have been taken directly from the head end of 16 mm (crown-rump) human embryos at 40-odd days gestation....'
'[Brainwave] recordings from embryos of 45 to 120 days gestation through surface and depth electrodes have shown responses to sedative and stimulant drugs, normal sleep spindles, and the effect of lack of oxygen by paroxysmal high voltage slow waves and ultimate electrical silence.'
--'Life or Death by EEG', Hannibal Hamlin, M.D., JAM, Oct 12, 1964, p. 113.
'Scientists have found hints of consciousness in 7-month-old fetuses and measured brain-wave patterns
like those during dreaming during 8 months. They have pushed sentience back to the end of the second
trimester and shown that fetuses can learn. With no hype at all, the fetus can rightly be called a marvel
of cognition, consciousness, and sentience. After 28 weeks in utero, the fetus can hear.... By
four months in a female fetus, all 5 million ova have formed. At 4 & 1/2 months, the fetus responds to a
brush on its lips by sucking. By six weeks the brain is visible and electrically active; by eight, it has
convoluted folds and shape of an adult brain.'
--'Do You Hear What I Hear?' Newsweek Special Issue, Summer 1991
'Using ultrasound techniques, it was first shown that rapid eye movements (REM) which are characteristic
of active dream states have been demonstrated at 23 weeks.'
--J. Birnhaltz, Science (vol 213, 1981)
'Cutaneous sensory receptors appear in the perioral area of the human fetus in the 7th week of gestation;
they spread to the rest of the face, the palms of the hands, and the soles of the feet by the 11th week, to the trunk and proximal parts of arms and legs by the 15th week, and to all cutaneous and mucous surfaces
by the 20th week. The spread of cutaneous receptors is preceded by the development of synapses between sensory fibers and interneurons in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord, which first appear during the 6th week of gestation.'
--'Pain in the Neonate and Fetus', Anand et al., from the New England Journal of Medicine, 317(21), Nov 19, 1987, p. 1322.
Would limiting abortions result in all the horror stories about septic abortions?
'We spoke of 5,000 to 10,000 deaths a year [from abortion, then illegal]. I confess that I knew the figures were totally false...It was a useful figure, widely accepted, so why go out of our way to correct it with honest statistics?' -Dr. Bernard Nathanson, co-founder of NARAL. In fact there were 45 deaths in 1973 from illegal abortions. --US Bureau of Vital Statistics
Gee, I'm still not sure the fetus is alive...
'Either the fetus is a person or not. Either we know what it is or we don't.
This leaves only 4 possibilities:
(1) A fetus is not a person, and we know that. This has NEVER been any evidence
to support this.
(2) A fetus is a person, and we know that. Killing an innocent person knowingly
(3) A fetus is a person, and we do not know that. Killing a person without
knowing or intending to is manslaughter. It's like shooting at a sudden movement
in a bush which may be a deer or another hunter.
(4) A fetus is not a person, and we do not know that. If the hunter didn't know
for sure and shot anyway, it is criminal negligence, even if no one was killed.
Abortion might be three things-murder, manslaughter, or criminal negligence-
each of which is not debated but instinctively condemned.'--Choices, by Peter Kreeft
Is there any connection between abortion and eugenics?
'To apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny are already tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.'
'To give dysgenic groups in our population their choice of segregation or sterilization.'
--Margaret Sanger 'Plan for Peace', from Birth Control Review vol 16, 1932. Ms Sanger was the founder of Planned Parenthood.
'More children from the fit, less from the unfit, that is the chief issue of birth control.'
--Margret Sanger(founder of Planned Parenthood) from The Birth Control Review, May 1919
'If we must have welfare, give it to the rich, not the poor.'
--Margret Sanger in The Pivot of Civilization (Brentano's Inc., 1992, page 96)
NOTE: This book called for the sterilization of 'genetically inferior races.'(p. 264)
'[We are] proud to be walking in the footsteps of Margret Sanger.'
--Faye Wattleton, former president of Planned Parenthood.
In 1990, Planned Parenthood reported prenatal care for 4,732 women and abortions for 122,191 women.
The saline method was developed first at Hitler's concentration camps.
The question is, does the baby have rights if society refuses to acknowledge them? In as much as slavery is wrong, whether the slaves are represented in the government or not. The injustices that the Nazis performed on the Jews was wrong, even though the Jews had no voice at the time
This is a woman's choice not the proto-rapist's! (ie heterosexual average man in feminist jargon)
While 39000 women who have had an abortion are in NARAL, 245000 women who have had abortions are members of National Right to Life.
Roughly 42 % of all baby girls are aborted, whereas only 25 % of all baby boys are aborted. (calculated from Planned Parenthood data)
'After 5-10 years 54 % of mothers choosing abortion had nightmares and 96 % felt they had taken a human life.' --from a study done by Dr. Anne Speckhard, U of Minnesota
The abortion industry makes 500 million dollars a year in the US, and an estimated 10 billion a year worldwide.
95% of women who had abortions from Planned Parenthood said their counselors gave '...little or no biological information about the fetus which the abortion would destroy…
80% said the counselors provided '...little or no information about the potential health risks which might follow the surgery.'
68% felt '...the procedure was not described with any degree of depth of clarity'
--from Aborted Women: Silent No More(David Reardon Crossway Books, 1987)(David Reardon Crossway Books, 1987)
'Abortion is promoted as a decision between a woman and her doctor. But, the percentage of abortions performed in clinics where the woman never sees the doctor until he appears to abort her baby is over 90 %.' --Human Life Alliance Advertising Supplement, 1991
'Through public conditioning, use of language, concepts, and laws, the idea of abortion can be separated from the idea of killing.' -Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, December 1971.
'The picture of the baby on the ultrasound bothered me more than anything else. The staff couldn't take it. Women who were having abortions were never allowed to see the ultrasound.'
-Dr. Joseph Randall, abortionist.
'Seeing a blown-up, moving image of the embryo she is carrying can be distressing to a woman about to undergo an abortion. The [sonogram] screen should be turned away from her.'
--Dr. Dorfman, OB GYN News, Feb 1986.
'In fact many women will come to me considering abortion, and I have been personally told that I am to turn the monitor away from her view so that seeing her baby jump around on the screen does not influence her choice.' --Shari Richard, Tech., 'Ultrasound: A Window to the Womb' (Video)
'We were told to find the woman's weakness and work on it. They were never given any alternatives. They were told how much trouble it was to have a baby.' -Debra Henry, abortion clinic staffer.
According to former abortion clinic owner Carol Everet, professional marketing experts are used to train clinic employees on how to sell abortions.
In terms of the law, is it true that Roe v. Wade made abortions legal ONLY for fetuses that could not live outside the mother's body? If so, we are not even measuring up to THAT standard.
And what of a society where women routinely delay childbirth until extraordinarily expensive and ethically questionable means are used to 'fulfill' them, while a hallway away perfectly formed fetuses are 'terminated' that could have been adopted? Schizophrenic, multiple personalities, sociopathic: these are good descriptors of these behaviors.
I am not impugning the motives, but the means that we are using to create this new secular 'world order' are the every day decisions of desperate people. Very well intentioned, but inconsistent and self destructive.
